I haven't read the manga, but according to Bro it's far better than the anime.

The EL manga was everything the anime should've been, but I've already given my two cents on the horrible piece of **** that was the EL anime. Unless you've read the manga, you don't know jack about EL, not with the way the anime butchered every last bit of it, sucked it up into a straw then went to bathroom and dumped it all down the toilet before flushing it into the sewers.

You guys should read & watch Captain Tsubasa! It's awesome & is probably my favourite alongside DragonBall & One-Piece! Even though I never read the Manga, only the Show! But it's 1 of the most popular Manga in Japan.

I guess I have to go with Dragonball despite knowing there are many better. Truthfully I'd prefer to watch anime than read manga, so I have only read one.

Formerly known as daman

I am a Hero is award winning so might be "main stream". I suppose it's not main stream though since it doesn't have a popular anime (or any anime at all).
Gonna just plug my topic again

I haven't read much manga in fact I've only completed one and caught up to another but so far my fave manga would be-

1. I am a Hero (caught up with the scanlations)
Zombies, survival and stuff.

2. All Rounder Meguru
MMA. 2 friends who did karate together as kids are now separated. One begins MMA for fun/for sport and the other to get revenge on someone in the Yakuza. Very technically good.

3. Rock N Roll Ricky aka RRR (completed)
Quiet short boxing manga about a 27 year old aspiring rock musician who ends up on route to being a pro boxer. Technically quite good and characterisation is decent (as in it isn't afraid to put some positive focus on his opponents). Often said to be like Hajime no Ippo but shorter so that gives you an idea of the style and quality although I'd say RRR gets quite rushed towards the end and RRR is a Seinen while Ippo I'm pretty sure is a shonen.

In no order...

Yuureitou (mystery/suspense/crime)
Liar Game (clever, better than Death Note imo)
Claymore (good characters/story/action plus a lot of heart)
Gantz (campy horror, extremely violent)
Kangoku Gakuen (dark humor, extremely ecchi)
Homunculus (deep, extremely bizarre)
Ibitsu (depressing, extremely perverted)

I've read Aku no Hana but didn't like it much tbh; characters aren't realistic and I really couldn't care less about any of them because they (mainly the two in your ava and sig) just annoyed me. Characters in Kimi no Knife are much more likable and relatable for me personally.
